Learners from Grade 1 to 8 recently embarked on a memorable and enriching educational field trip to the iconic Global Vipassana Pagoda — a marvel of architecture and a sanctuary of peace. This awe-inspiring monument houses the world’s largest stone dome built without any supporting pillars!
Standing tall at 99.06 meters, the central dome rises about 29 meters high and boasts an internal diameter of 85.15 meters, making it twice the size of India’s Gol Gumbaz Dome.
With an expansive meditation hall covering 6000 m², it can seat over 8000 individuals in silent meditation — promoting the values of peace, harmony, and non-sectarian learning through Vipassana meditation, as taught by S. N. Goenka.
Our learners were truly mesmerised by the architectural grandeur and spiritual significance of the monument. This experiential visit not only broadened their horizons but also introduced them to India’s rich heritage and the universal values of mindfulness and inner peace.
A day filled with awe, learning, and tranquillity!
